Ursula E. O’Marah ” Mrs. O.”

Ursula O'Marah, 89, of Ogdensburg, died, May 5, 2013, at St. Joseph's Nursing Home. A memorial mass will be May 18, 2013 at 11:00 am, at the Notre Dame Church, Father James Shurtleff officiating, burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. Ursula is survived by her daughter, Rena O'Marah, Manlius, grandchildren, Andrew John Thurston, Ryan Paul Thurston, Stephen Lee and Stephanie Thomas, Tammy and John Feiden, Trevor O'Marah, great grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin and Mark Thomas, Jay and Taylor Feiden, Angela, Jennifer and Kelly Poole, Alexandria and Samantha Bray, 3 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Raymond Jay O'Marah, January 2007, a daughter, Margaret Ann (Joann) Thomas, February 2009, a granddaughter, Ursula Renee Bray, January 2012, a brother, Carl and wife Evelyn Hebert, sisters, Geraldine Carpenter, Mary Margaret and husband Charlie Silva and Irene Hebert at infancy. Ursula was born on January 22, 1924, in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Carl and Margaret Lovely Hebert. She married Harold John O'Marah on September 17, 1949 in Heuvelton; he died on November 18, 1973. Ursula worked in the laundry at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, and previous to that she was an assembly line worker at Cleveland Container. She was a parishioner of Notre Dame Church. She was known for BBQs and weekend gatherings at her home. She loved to play cards, trivia games (everyone tried to see who could make her laugh the hardest), watching tennis, and golf, Jeopardy, the Home Shopping Network and Court TV. Ursula was young at heart, caring, had a great sense of humor, was loving and was always there to help the ones she loved anyway she could, but she had a tough side if need be. Her last few years were spent at St. Joseph's Nursing Home where she got excellent care and became a loving fixture to the employees, (she suffered from Alzheimer's disease).
