Terry L. Thompson

HEUVELTON- Funeral services for Terry L. Thompson, 70, of State Street in Heuvelton will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 3:00p.m. at the LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Nichols officiating. Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home.  A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will be private.

 Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.

Mr. Thompson died late Wednesday evening, June 7, 2017 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital following a long illness. He was born on October 26, 1946 in Canton, New York to the late Leland and Freda VanBrocklin Thompson.  He graduated from Heuvelton Central School in 1966.  He served in the United States Airforce from June 1966-1971.  He loved working out in his yard, spending time with his family, hunting and walking in the woods, birdwatching, he loved animals and reading and watching westerns.  He was a member of the AMVETS Post 1997 Heuvelton.

 He married Martha McNamara on May 24, 1997 at home in Heuvelton.

 He is survived by his wife Martha, and two daughters, Heather & Mikayla, all from Heuvelton; a step son, Dale Henry, Canton. He is also survived by his brother Lynn Thompson and his wife Beverly of Heuvelton and a sister Sharon Farrell and her companion Jack Ouderkirk of Hammond and one step grandson Johnny Henry.

 He was predeceased by his brothers: Greg (in infancy), Bryan “Bing”, Dick, Gary, Bruce and James  and also by his sister Sheila.

He was an auto body technician and retired from Regan’s Collison in 2003.
