Shirley A. Roberts

January 18, 1936 — June 30, 2019

BRIER HILL-A Memorial Talk for Shirley A. Roberts, 83, of Brier Hill will be held on Friday, July 5th, 2019 at 7 p.m.  by William Jones at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 71 Baily Road Massena, New York.   Mrs. Roberts died on Sunday evening, June 30th, 2019 at the Riverledge Nursing Home, following a short illness.  

Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.

Shirley A. Roberts was born on January 18, 1936, in Morristown, NY.  She was the daughter of the late Leslie T. and Rose “Alma”  (Brassoit) Stowe.   Shirley was a loving mother and friend, she was a homemaker and active member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses where she enjoyed sharing in the Bible education work.   John 5:28 & 29.

Shirley also enjoyed her plants and flowers, decorating her home, crafts, word searches, playing cards, the Wii and many other games.  She loved sharing the history of people’s families she knew and entertaining friends and family.   Shirley and Bernie enjoyed hosting at their home over the years, many baby showers, weddings, graduations and cookouts just for fun.  She just loved people.

Shirley is survived by her sons; Rodney G. Roberts and his wife Doris of Brier Hill, NY, John A. Roberts of Arizona, Christopher M. Roberts and his wife Brenda of Hammond, NY.  She is also survived by her daughters; Michele A. Bender and her husband Harvey of Tennessee and Lisa L. Gemmill of Brier Hill and her husband Michael, Lorraine L. Starks of Idaho and her husband David.  She is also survived by her brothers; Raymond E. Stowe of Gouverneur and James A. Stowe and his wife Carol of Heuvelton.  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Bernard G. Roberts, her parents; Leslie and Alma Stowe, her brother. Richard L. Stowe, a three-year-old daughter Faline M. Roberts, an infant son Daniel M. Roberts, infant twin granddaughters Rachael L. and Rebekah L. Gemmill and a Grandson; Benjamin Roberts.
