Shirley J. Piercey

OGDENSBURG-Funeral services for Shirley J. Piercey, 88, of Ogdensburg will be private.  Mrs. Piercey died on Wednesday evening, August 9, 2023, at her brother's home in Lisbon, following a long illness and under the care of Hospice.  She will be entombed at Foxwood Memorial Park alongside her late husband  Clifford A. “Chauncey” Piercey.

Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home.

Shirley J. Piercey was born on December 2, 1934 in Ogdensburg, NY. She was the daughter of the late William and Doris (Gonyou) Deloney. On February 14, 1953, Valentine’s Day, she married Clifford A. “Chauncey” Piercey at the Notre Dame Rectory.  Mr. Piercey died on July 31, 1996.  Shirley enjoyed sitting and talking with her friends at Parkview Rise and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son; Gregory Dean Piercey and his companion Eirlys Matson of Myrtle Beach, SC, her Grandson; Jason Piercey of Flagler Beach, FL, and her great-grandsons; Devon and Jace Piercey.  Her brother Sherman Deloney and his wife Letti of Lisbon, sisters-in-law; Janet Sweeney and her husband Tony and Jo Ann Deloney along with many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her brothers; Freeman and Leonard Deloney.
