OGDENSBURG-Sandra Bartman Halpin, 65, of Ogdensburg passed away on October 05, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong resident of Ogdensburg, NY, she is survived by her husband of 44 years Bob, a daughter Shauna Amo and her husband Pete, a son Eric, a son Gabe and his wife Kim, a son Andrew and his wife Keylee and eight grandchildren; Sage Smith, Sophia Halpin, Teeghan Bell, Adrianna and Christian Halpin, and Kaelyn, Natalya and Lucas Halpin all of Ogdensburg, NY. Sandra is also survived by her brother, Jay of Ogdensburg, NY, and her two very special nieces, Tamie Karagiannis and Lawrie Madden of Pennsylvania.
She was predeceased by a son Christian, her Mother Hilda (Rivet) Bartman and her Father, J. Horace Bartman.
Sandra was born in Ogdensburg, NY on January 12, 1952. She attended St. Mary’s Academy until 1969 and graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1970. She married Bob Halpin on April 28, 1973 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. During her working years she worked for the Ogdensburg City School District, Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, The Solid Waste Disposal Authority, and retired after 21 years of working for the Department of Social Services.
Sandra was always on the go her whole life and was devoted to her husband, kids, and grandkids. She never missed a function that any of her grandkids were involved in. Her favorite times were spent just being with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed catching up with old friends on Facebook. She had a super personality, was loved by many, and found joy in just talking with others.
Calling hours for Sandra will be held on Wednesday October 11, 2017 from 4 until 7 pm at the LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home, 324 New York Ave. Ogdensburg. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 10 A.M. at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Father Joseph Morgan as celebrant.
Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home.
