Robert John “Bobby” Hanna, 51, formerly of Rennselaer Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on November 30th, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a lasting impact on those who knew him. He battled cancer and mental health issues with resilience and courage.
Public Calling Hours for Robert will be held on Saturday, December 16th, 2023 at 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Morley Wesleyan Church with the Funeral Service to follow at 12 p.m.
A burial will be held at the Storie Farm at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care of the LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home located at 324New York Avenue, Ogdensburg, NY 13669.
Robert, known as Bobby, was born September 7th, 1972 to John and Vera Hanna, Canton. Throughout his life, Bobby was involved in many sports and recreations including canoe racing, biking, and wrestling. He attended SUNY Canton after graduating from Hugh C. Williams High School, Canton NY in 1991. Soon after, he took a job at IBM in California. He met His wife Donna after returning to NY in 1996. They were married in 2004. Bobby is survived by his parents John and Vera Hanna of Canton and leaves behind two brothers: Danny (Shannon) Hanna, Rensselaer Falls, and Kaleb (Sam) Hanna, Canton, and two sisters: Erin (Bryan) Pseno, Canton, and Elisha (Andy) Hurlbut, Canton.
Bobby touched the hearts of many with his kindness, generosity, and concern for others. He faced his own struggles with determination, love for life, and care for the people around him, evidenced by his warm smile and generous heart.
Recently Bobby confronted his final challenge—cancer. Despite the physical toll, he continued to display incredible bravery, finding peace in the love and support of his family and friends. Thank you to everyone who visited, he valued your company. Beyond the hardships, there was peace in the promises of hope, love, and eternal life offered by Jesus. Bobby's legacy will live on in the hearts of those he knew. He will be remembered for his strength and compassion—a reminder there is grace to help us face life's challenges. In this time of sorrow, Jesus offers hope we will one day see our loved ones again.
In honoring Bobby, let's celebrate the love he shared and the indelible mark he left on this world. His memory will continue to be a source of strength and inspiration for those who knew him. Let us carry forward Bobby's legacy by embracing our call to love one another, whatever the cost. May his life story inspire us to reflect on our own journey so that we offer grace and love to others without boundaries, just as Bobby did.
