Robert Dunn

Robert Dunn, 80, of Ogdensburg, died, February 21, 2013, at River Ledge Health Care Facility. Calling hours will be at the funeral home, Saturday, February 23, 2013 11 AM - 1PM, funeral service to follow at 1PM, Reverend Thomas Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Ogdensburgh Cemetery. Robert is survived by his mother, Luella Dwight Denny, Ogdensburg, a son, Larry Dunn, daughters, Becky Dunn, Brenda Dunn, brothers, Donald Dunn, Harrison, Ohio, Wally and wife Janet Dunn, Whitesboro, Ronald Dunn, Ogdensburg, Wayne Dunn, Clinton, Wendell Dunn and fiancAC. Sally Hardin, Verona, sisters, Deanne and husband Allen Powers, Ogdensburg, Kathleen Waite, Ogdensburg, Judy Rutherford, Harrison, Ohio, several grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Dunn. Born on May 7, 1932, in Plainfield, New Jersey, the son of Luella Dwight, a marriage to Arlene Lumbard ended in divorce. Robert served in the Army from 1952 - 1956, he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a maintenance worker at the Carrier Dome and worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway. Robert was a kind gentleman who enjoyed lending a helping hand to others. He loved listening to country music. He was a very caring and devoted son. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
