OGDENSBURG-Graveside Funeral services for Marymargaret Griffith, 87, of Lovejoy Road, Ogdensburg will be held in the spring at Hillcrest Cemetery in Heuvelton. Mrs. Griffith died on Wednesday evening, March 15, 2023, at her home following a long illness, surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home.
Marymargaret Griffith was born on February 2, 1936, in Ogdensburg. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Beatrice (Chateau) Pollard. She attended Ogdensburg schools and on July 10, 1954, she married Donald Griffith at the First Congregational Church of Ogdensburg.
She enjoyed bowling, was a member of T.O.P.S. and volunteered for the Salvation Army. She sang in the church choir and cooked at Camp Laurent. Some of her hobbies were plastic canvasing, playing cards, and feeding and watching birds and squirrels.
She is survived by her children; Donna (Tom) Dunn of Mattydale, Donald (Inga) Griffith Jr. of Texas, Henry (Kay) Griffith of Maryland, Lee (Lisa B.) Griffith of Ogdensburg, David (Sarah) Griffith of Ogdensburg, , Dan (Lisa) Griffith of Ogdensburg, John (Ruthann) Griffith of Ogdensburg, Michael Griffith of Nashville, TN, and Scott (Carrie) Griffith of Cato, NY.
Her siblings; Arthur “Sonny” Pollard of Florida, Aldora Redmond of Niagara Falls, and Sallyann Smith along with 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive her.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald Griffith and her sister Kathleen Pollard.
