Marie Schneller

June 30, 1934 — January 28, 2017

HEUVELTON-On January 28, 2017 Marie Schneller passed away in much the same way that she lived her 82 years; in peace and surrounded by the people that she loved and who so loved her in return.

Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.

Marie was born on June 30, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York to parents John  and Irene (Cardinal) Tacchino.   She was predeceased by her brother, Joe Tacchino and his wife Francis Algie Tacchino.  Among her survivors are her children and grandchildren, Thomas Schneller (Joel, Kristen and Ashley), John and Laurie Schneller (Joseph and Kenneth), Barbara and Mark Lashua (Katherine and Jenna) and Michael and Laura Schneller(Elizabeth and Matthew).  She is also survived by sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Robert Bracco, several beloved nieces and nephews, as well as 4 great- grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Marie held jobs from Wall St. to Northern New York, in each instance making lifelong friends along the way.  Always one to find humor in a situation, she brought joy wherever she went and gladly shared it with others.  Her sense of wonder and ability to see beauty in simple things kept her young at heart.

It is in this spirit of joy, and in lieu of traditional calling hours and services, that the family wishes to celebrate this remarkable woman’s life at the home of her daughter and son-in-law’s at 11 Rensselaer Street in Heuvelton on Wednesday, February 1st from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.  We invite all who knew and cared for her, as well as those who are family friends, to stop in, share a story, say farewell and reminisce with her family. A graveside service will be held in the spring at the East Road Cemetery in Depeyster.

Memorial donations in Marie’s honor may be made to the Heuvelton Free Library 57 North State Street Heuvelton, NY 13654, the Heuvelton Historical Association 83 State Street Heuvelton, NY 13654 or to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley 6805 NYS Route 11 Potsdam, NY 13676.
