Louis L. Testani

Ogdensburg- Louis L. Testani, 91, formerly of Hamilton Street died peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the United Helpers Riverledge Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Testani was born on March 19, 1928 in Heuvelton, NY to the late Vincenzo (Vincent) J. and Mary Faustinelli Testani. 

Calling Hours will be held on Sunday May, 5, 2019 from 4-7pm at the LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home, located at 324 New York Avenue in Ogdensburg.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the St. Mary’s Cathedral at 11:00am, with Reverand James Shurtleff, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Foxwood Mausoleum in Ogdensburg.

Louis attended Heuvelton Central School.  He married Alix Brown on September 3, 1960 at the Sacred Heart Church, in Edwards, NY, by the Monsignor Joseph Bailey.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1950-1952. He retired in 1986 from the Department of Mental Hygiene, after 33 years of dedicated service working for the New York State St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center in Ogdensburg. The couple resided in Ogdensburg, NY and spent their winter months in Florida from 1993-2012. 

Mr. Testani is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alix Testani, two daughters Angela (Testani) Reed and her companion (Dallas Sutton), her children Madelyn, Benjamin, and Dylan Reed, and grandchildren, Sawyer and Rhyan Reed; all of Ogdensburg; a daughter, Dr. Christina Testani Cafiero and husband Dr. Anthony Cafiero, Orlando, Florida. He is also survived by two sons, Anthony and his wife Elizabeth (Seymour) Testani, and their children Grace Testani and her fiancé Chad Montana, and Isaac Testani; a son, Andrew and his wife Elizabeth (Breen) Testani, and their children, Rocco and Mareena Testani ,all from Ogdensburg; a brother in-law, Robert (Diane) Brown, Canada; and several great nieces and nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by two brothers, Joseph & Dominic Testani, a sister, Lucille (Lucy) Fournier. A grandson, Alexander Lucas Testani.

He was a member of the Ogdensburg Elks Club Lodge #1762, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing, spending the winter months in Florida with Alix. He loved spending time with his family and following his children and grandchildren in sports. Donations in his memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
