My wife and I were very sad to learn of Larry's passing. I have fond memories of cruising with Larry during my college years in his Datsun 240Z and listening to him talk endlessly about the brilliance of Noam Chomsky. Larry was an extremely devout catholic, perhaps even more in so than the pope. Larry played a pivotal role in restoring both my wife's and my catholic faith which had weakened as a result of all the pedophilia scandals in the priesthood to the point where we were planning to convert to Judaism. When Larry heard of our plans, he intervened, visiting us at our home and convinced us that all was fine because all the scandals were part of God's plan to strengthen the church. As a result, we have remained in the church thanks to Larry. May this wonderful man rest in peace.
