A celebration of life for John M. Armstrong, 65, of Ogdensburg, will be held at a later date to be announced.  Mr. Armstrong died Thursday morning, October 19th, 2023, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.  

Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home.

John M. Armstrong was born on July 14, 1958, in Ogdensburg, NY.  He was the son of the late Joseph D. and Harriet Lorraine (Poaps) Armstrong.  He was a 1977 graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy.  John worked for the Ogdensburg City School District for 19 years.  He enjoyed gardening, visiting with past co-workers, working on cars, and watching the New York Yankees with his father, four-wheeling, word search books, and going on trips to Richmond, Virginia.   Most of all he loved spending time with his family, his sons, and his grandchildren.  

He is survived by his sons, Joseph J. Armstrong and his wife Blake of Ogdensburg and Ross Armstrong and his fiancé Sarah Primeau of Richmond, VA.  His sisters: Susan Fox of Ogdensburg, Judith Seymour and her husband Robert of Ogdensburg, and Brenda Merritt of Ogdensburg also survived him along with his beloved grandchildren; Brennan Cota Armstrong, Axil Slayde Armstrong, Allie Armstrong, and Logan Primeau.  Also surviving is Robert St. Andrews, his son’s half-brother, whom he was very fond of and considered like a son, his nieces, Alissa Baker and her husband Paul and Cheryl Seymour, nephews; Adam Seymour and his partner Jeff Danby and several great nieces and nephews.
