Jean M. Cutway

July 13, 1930 — March 30, 2019

BRIER HILL- Funeral services for Jean M. Cutway, 88, of Bradenton, Florida and formerly of Brier Hill will be private.   There will be no public calling hours.  Mrs. Cutway died on Saturday, March 30th, 2019 at Riverledge Nursing Home. 

Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home.

 

Jean M. Cutway was born on July 13, 1930, in Ogdensburg, NY.  She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Eva (Youngs) Mallott.  She was a 1947 graduate of Morristown Central School, after high school, she continued on to graduate from Watertown Business School.  On July 31, 1949, she married Basil R. Cutway at the Young Memorial Church in Brier Hill.  Mr. Cutway died on November 6, 2017.    Jean and Basil owned and operated the Brier Manor Farm in Brier Hill.   She also was the treasurer for Morristown Central School for several years.  In 1973 they moved to Bradenton Florida and she worked for Harloff’s Tomato Packing in the scale house.   Jean was an avid gardener and she loved to raise Monarch Butterflies. 

She is survived by her children; Susan Bogardus Van Vleet of Brier Hill (and her special friend Scott Dunn of Hammond), Larry Cutway of Brier Hill and James Cutway and his wife Nancy of Myakka, Florida.  Her siblings; Edward Mallott of Wasilla, Alaska and Sally Armstrong also survive her.   She is survived by her grandchildren; Nicole (Andrew) LaPlante, Amanda Bogardus, Kathryn (Timothy) Kyle, Jesse (Lindsay) Cutway, Victoria and Adrienne Cutway.  as well as nine great-grandchildren.  

She was predeceased by brothers Richard & Roger Mallott.
