Isabella Rose Stirpe

A Funeral Mass for Isabella R. Stirpe, 101, of Ogdensburg will be held on Saturday August 6, 2016 at 12:00 p.m.  at the  Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff as celebrant.  Burial will follow the mass in Notre Dame Cemetery.  Ms. Stirpe died on Wednesday August 3, 2016 at the Riverledge Nursing Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.

Isabella Rose Stirpe was born on December 28, 1914 in Ogdensburg, NY.  She was the daughter of the late John and Laura (Delair) Stirpe.  She attended both Rensselaer Falls and Ogdensburg grade schools, she graduated from Rensselaer Falls High School and attended a local business school.  She also became an RNA after receiving her training at Brockville General Hospital.  Prior to that time she was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Baltimore, Maryland and Washington D.C.  She was a parishioner of Notre Dame Church and enjoyed writing poetry and many of her poems where published.  She loved music and square dancing.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her brothers; John, Joseph and Kenneth Stirpe and her sisters; Harriet Earl and Frances Shaver.
