Ilda V. Smith, 84, of Ogdensburg, died on May 26, 2015 at River Ledge Health Care. The funeral service will be Saturday, May 30, 3 PM at the funeral home, Reverend Jane Wagner officiating, burial will follow in Cedar Cemetery, Black Lake. She is survived by sons, Claude Smith of Ogdensburg, Leo Smith and fiancAC. Brittany White of Ogdensburg, Curtis Smith of Hammond, Kevin and his wife Lila Smith of Gouverneur, daughters, Ramona and her husband Raul Lacey-Gonzales of Herrings, New York, Carlene and husband Ernie Prim of Texas, Ilda Elliott and Steve Gaurin of Canton, many grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Levi Smith, a brother, Raymond LaRue and a sister Grace Butterfield. Ilda was born on October 6, 1930 in the Town of Oswegatchie, the daughter of Dennis Levi and Gladys Towns Finley. She married Carl Allen Smith on October 22, 1950 in Hammond, he predeceased her on February 1, 1978. Ilda was a homemaker, who took loving care of her family. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, knitting, doing crafts and crossword puzzles. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
