Gwendolyn A. Poole

A Celebration of Life for Gwendolyn A. Poole, 56, of Gouverneur and formerly of Adairville, Kentucky will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 6 p.m. at the Miller Residence, 653 U.S. Route 11, Gouverneur and a Memorial Service is planned at a date to be announced at the Adairville United Methodist Church, Adairville, KY.   Ms. Poole died on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Gouverneur following a long and courageous battle with Cancer.

Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.

Gwendolyn A. Poole was born on June 21, 1960 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Jerry B. and Barbara (Wilson) Shelton.  She worked at the BP Travel Center in Adairville as a cook, in 2014 she moved to Gouverneur to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.  She enjoyed crocheting, NASCAR, playing Farmville and doing word searches, but most of all she loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Miller and her wife Lisa of Gouverneur, her sisters; Tammy Boyd of Russellville, KY and Susan Hester of Russellville, KY.  Two grandchildren also survived her.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brothers Larry G. and Gary B. Shelton.
