Evelyn P. Childs

Evelyn P. Childs, 89, of Ogdensburg, died on November 21, 2013, at the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. A graveside service will be, Monday, November 25, 2013, 12:00 PM at the Pine Hill Cemetery, Eel Weir Rd., Reverend Thomas Nichols officiating. Evelyn is survived by her son, Harlan and his wife Deborah Childs of Eufaula, AL, a daughter, Bethany Felt of Heuvelton, a brother in law, Avery J. B. Childs of Florida, grand children Timothyand wife Leslie Felt of Ogdensburg, Kevin and his wife Amanda Felt of Canton, Sherri and husband Jason LaValley of Chazy, Morrie and husband Michael Lynn, Clayton, AL, 5 great grandchildren, a special niece Dorothy and her husband Jeffrey Swift of Morristown, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Ivan and George Fulford. She was born on January 26, 1924 in Morristown, the daughter of David W. and Prudence D. Dunbar Fulford. She married Maurice G. Childs on Mary 24, 1941 at the Galilee United Methodist Church; he died December 17, 2009. Evelyn was a factory worker at ACCO in Ogdensburg from 1957 until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of Maple City Swingers, and Modern Square Dancing. Evelyn loved doing crafts, going camping and had a large nut cracker collection. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Morristown Volunteer Fire Dept. or Meals on Wheels.
