Ella I. Finley

OGDENSBURG-Funeral services for Ella I. Finley, 84, of Ogdensburg will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Bible Baptist Church of Ogdensburg located at 403 Spruce St. with Rev. Daniel Welsh officiating.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 5-8 P.M. at the LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home, 324 New York Avenue.  Burial will be held at a later date in the Little Church Cemetery, Stanley, NY.     Mrs. Finley died Friday evening, December 16, 2016 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg. 

Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home.

Ella I. Finley was born on June 13, 1932 in Ogdensburg, she was the daughter of the late Earl H. and Irene (Durham) Finley.  She attended Ogdensburg Free Academy.  She went to work for the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center in 1950 and retired as a Food Service Supervisor in 1989.  She was an active member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Ogdensburg, she served as a Sunday School Teacher and the Church Treasurer.  She currently was attending the Bible Baptist Church of Ogdensburg.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family on trips and vacations.

She is survived by her daughter; Elaine E. Blowers and her husband John of Geneva, her grandchildren; Jason, Karen and Levi Blowers.  She is also survived by her siblings Viola Gilson of Dekalb, Gerald Finley and his wife Lynn of North Syracuse and Maynard Finley and his wife Jean of Ogdensburg.  Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. 

She was predeceased by her siblings; Claude and Robert Finley, Doris Johnston and Eva McDonald.
