Doris "Dorothy" Johnston, 90, Ogdensburg, died on August 4, 2014, at Riverledge Health Care. Calling hours will be Thursday, August 7, 2014, 11 am – 2 PM at the funeral home; a funeral service will be at 2:30 PM at the Ogdensburg Wesleyan Church, Rev. Paul Dettmer and Pastor John Wixon co-officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Eel Weir. Doris is survived by sons, Albert and wife Rose Johnston, of Loomis, California, Elton and wife Michele Johnston, of Ogdensubrg, daughters, Irene "Lillian" and husband Larry Hamilton,of Ogdensburg, Joyce and husband Donald Kench, of Ogdensburg, brothers, Maynard Finley, of Ogdensburg, Gerald and wife Lynn Finley, of North Syracuse, sisters, Ella Finley, of Ogdensburg, Eva McDonald, of Ogdensburg, Viola and husband Fern Gilson, DeKalb, grandchildren, Laticia Hamilton, Lucas and Terry Lynn Hamilton, Sarah and Rachael Stanton, Christopher Johnston, Darnelle Johnston, ZacharyJohnston and Jared Johnston, 7 great grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by siblings, Claude, Robert, Alton, and Dorothy Finley. Doris was born on February 13, 1924 in Newton Falls, the daughter of Earl and Irene Durham Finley. On October 7, 1952 she married James Doran Johnston at the Pilgrim Holiness Church; he died on December 17, 2001. She was a family care provider for more than 40 years, previous to that she worked at the State Hospital in food services. She loved attending church, liked going shopping and eating at Donut King.
