OGDENSBURG-Funeral services for Diane M. Finley, 58, of Ogdensburg will be private. Mrs. Finley died on Sunday evening, August 26, 2018, at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family and following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.
Diane M. Finley was born on February 21, 1960, in Ogdensburg. She was the daughter of Joseph and Barbara ( Myers) Havens Jr. She was a 1978 graduate of Heuvelton Central School. She went on to Study at SUNY Canton and earned her A.A.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from SUNY Potsdam. On August 16, 1990, she married Ronald R. Finley in the Town of Lisbon. She later went on to earn her B.A. in Social Services. Diane worked as a Teacher for Ogdensburg Head Start for the past 30 years.
Diane enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time at their camp at Lake Pleasant but most of all she loved taking care of and spending time with her loving family.
Diane is survived by her husband Ronald Finley, her children; Ashley Putney and her husband Jon of Heuvelton, Zachary Finley and his companion Julie Spooner of Heuvelton and her grandchildren; Ross and Abigail Putney. She is survived by her mother Barbara Havens of Ogdensburg, her brother Christopher Havens and his wife Mary Anne of Texas and her sister Carol Blackburn and her husband Dave of Syracuse. She also survived by her Mother and Father-in-law Maynard and Carol Finley. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive her.
She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Havens.
