Cora J. McEwen

Cora J. McEwen, 84, formally of Ogdensburg, died on March18, 2014, in Rome, New York, Allen-Nichols Funeral Home, Ogdensburg is entrusted with arrangements. There will be calling hours on March 21, 2014, 11 am - 2PM at the funeral home, the funeral mass will follow at Notre Dame Church at 2:30 PM, Father James Shurtleff officiating, burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery on the 10th of May, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Cora is survived by a her children, Ramona L. Pallas, Jeannine M. McEwen-Walls, Richard O. McEwen Jr., Thomas A. McEwen, James W. McEwen, and 11 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Martha M. McEwen and a grandson, Michael L. Pallas. She was born in Ogdensburg, June 21, 1929, the daughter of Thomas Ansty and Leona Kiah Barr, she graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1948, and then graduated from the St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing in 1952 as a registered nurse. Cora married Richard O. McEwen in St. Mary's Cathedral; he died on June 17, 1993. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Angel Flight, 1515 East 71st Street, Ste 312, Tulsa, OK 74136.
