Claude X. Bayard, 77, of Ogdensburg, died on February 2, 2014, at his home. There will be a funeral mass May 17, 2014, 11:00 am at Notre Dame Church, Father James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Claude is survived by his sisters, Suzanne and husband Robert Aumell of Cicero, Dorothy Smith of Ogdensburg, a niece, Diane and her husband Patrick Goodwin of Dewitt, nephews, Gregory M. Smith of Ogdensburg, David and his wife Lynn Aumell of Marcellus, Jeffrey and his wife Melissa of Canastota, several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Donald Bayard. Claude was born on June 28, 1936, in Ogdensburg, the son of Roger and Marion Moreau Bayard. He graduated from Morristown Central School; he then earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from SUNY Canton. He was a home health aide for St. Lawrence CDP in Canton, prior to that he was a store manager at J.C. Penney in Watertown and Endicott Johnson in Ogdensburg. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ogdensburg, and was a parishioner of Notre Dame Church. He loved gardening, reading and walking his dog.
