OGDENSBURG -- Chris William (Pete) Terrance, aged 61, of Ogdensburg, passed away peacefully on November 7th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family after a months-long battle with cancer.
Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.
Services and a burial will be held privately at the Notre Dame Cemetery on Friday, December 1, 2023, where he will be laid to rest alongside his parents, with Deacon Mark Lalonde officiating.
A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 2:00pm at the VFW located on Champlain Street in Ogdensburg.
Chris Was born on September 4, 1962, in Ogdensburg, the son of the late Alexander and Barbara (Towe) Terrance.
He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy before joining the United States Marines and serving honorably for four years.
He married Linda Wood of Ogdensburg in June of 1988. He had three children, Chris of Hammond, Justin of Ogdensburg, Cheyenne of Lyons, a stepson, Derek Wood of Rochester, and two grandchildren, Dominick Terrance and Alexis Snow.
Surviving are four brothers, Paul Terrance of Dallas/Fort Worth, Michael Terrace of Bristol, VA, Danny Terrance of Ogdensburg; seven sisters, Roseanne Planty of Ogdensburg, Jarilyn (John) Ashley of Flackville, Vicki (Aubrey) Schultz of North Rose, Mille Sue Brown of Ogdensburg, Michelle (Bob) Volz of West Stockholm, Mary Burwell of Ogdensburg, and Nicole Bennet of Fulton. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive him.
He is predeceased by four brothers, Randy, Kevin, Robin, and Patrick Terrance; brothers-in-law Harold Planty, Edward Burwell, and Robert Brown.
Pete enjoyed time with family and friends and reading Stephen King books. He loved the outdoors and working with his hands.
