Catherine Card

HERMON- Catherine M. Card, 85, formerly of the Trout Lake Road, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, February 18, 2019 at the St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Ogdensburg, NY.

Services will be held privately by the family in the Fairview Cemetery in Edwards, NY in the Spring.

She was born on October 8, 1933 in West Turin, New York to the late Leon, Hilda Scheidleman Weiler. She was a caregiver to many she worked full-time as a Home Health Aide. Her most important job was being a full- time Mother.

Catherine loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She enjoyed her flower gardens, visiting and shopping at local garage sales, and she loved her animals.  She was  a caring mother and the best grandmother in the world.

She married the late Raymond V. Card on October 8, 1950 at the Lowville Methodist Parsonage. The couple resided in Hermon since 1965. Mr. Card died on April 10, 2013.

She is survived by several children; Robert Card, Hermon; Richard (Debi) Card, Gouverneur and their children, David, Jimmy and Julie; daughter, Kathy and Terry Tynon of Jacksonville, NC; and their children, Shantell and Shane; daughter, Melanie and the late Douglas Mattice, Rensselaer Falls, and their children, D.J. and Jason and Mystori, daughter, Diana and Mark Richardson of Canton and their child, Juliana; Penny and Mitch Hays of Gouverneur and their children Shandria and Ariana; and daughter, Darlene Thornton of Largo, Florida and her children Travis and Brittany; and a foster daughter, Tammy Olin of Clearfield, PA and her child Khrystial and a brother, Gerald (Jerry) Weiler, Boonville, NY; She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by an infant daughter who died at birth, and two sisters, Thelma Weiler and Bernice Miller and a brother, Durwood Weiler.

Donations in her memory can be made to Fairview Cemetery Association in Edwards, New York.
