Barbara V. Johnson

 

HEUVELTON- A Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara V. Johnson, 90, of Heuvelton will be held on Thursday, December 28th, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church with Rev. Kevin O'Brien as celebrant.  Burial will follow the Mass in Pine Hill Cemetery, Eel Weir. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public calling hours.   Mrs. Johnson died on Friday, December 22, 2023, at her home surrounded by her daughters and under the care of Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home.

Barbara was born on May 17, 1933, in Ogdensburg, NY.  She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Genevieve (Fortin) LaFlair.  On May 17, 1949, she married Earl Roach, he passed away on March 27, 1966.  She would find love again, marrying Charles Johnson on December 2, 1973.  He passed away on September 29, 1993.  Barbara worked for the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as an Aide until her retirement.  Barbara was a parishioner of Notre Dame Church.  She enjoyed Country Music, crocheting, knitting, gardening, mowing her lawn on the riding lawn mower.  Most of all she loved to spend time with her family. 

She is survived by her daughters, Viviane Roach, Barbara Bayne, Ronda VanOrman and Catherine Roach.  Her stepsons; George Johnson, David Johnson and Kalvin Johnson and her stepdaughters; Evelyn Thompson, Marilyn Denesha and Kimberly Cosby. Her brother Frederick (Patricia) LaFlair also survives her along with fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and twenty six great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her children, Norman Roach, Charles Roach, Kristie Lennox, Earl Douglas Roach, Marilyn Roach in infancy and her stepson Raymond Johnson. Her siblings; Ronald LaFlair, Franklin LaFlair,  and Marilyn LaFlair also predeceased her.
