Barbara J. Bailey

Barbara J. Bailey, 78, of Waddington, died at her home surrounded by her loving family and hospice on July 14, 2013. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 17, 2013 11 am – 1 PM at the funeral home, a funeral mass will follow at 1:30 PM at Notre Dame Church, Ogdensburg, Reverend Father James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in East Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur. Barbara is survived by her husband, Carl, a son, Kevin D. and his wife, Karen Bailey, Massena, a daughter, Suzanne and her husband, Douglas LaRose, South Colton, brothers, Vincent Montroy, Ogdensburg, Francis and his wife, Kate Montroy, Parishville, a sister, Theresa Ploof, South Burlington, VT, 3 grandsons, Joshua Bailey, Logan Bailey, and Drew LaRose, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Anthony and Raymond Montroy. Barbara was born on November 30, 1934 in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Francis and Irene Ladouceur Montroy. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1951 and then from Ogdensburg Business School in 1952. Barbara married Carl Bailey on May 29, 1965 at Notre Dame Church. She was a keyboard specialist at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center from 1988 -1998. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Richard Winter Cancer Treatment Center or Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.

So sad to hear of Barb’s passing, I have so many wonderful memories of this amazing women! Suzanne and Kevin were so blessed to have her as a Mom. She loved life and lived it to the fullest, she knew how to have fun!! I hope she and my Mom are finally getting a chance to visit again….thinking of you guys, always!
